About Haven.
A digital haven where young people — and the adults who support them — can find accessible, evidence-based mental health information from Georgetown University clinicians and researchers.
Our mission.
Haven is dedicated to revolutionizing mental health support for teens and young adults. We believe that accessible, evidence-based information has the power to foster understanding, reduce stigma, and promote well-being. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive, user-friendly platform that serves as a trusted resource for youth, parents, educators, and healthcare providers.
Our story
We created Haven to provide a centralized, reliable source of mental health information for teens and young adults, who are living in a time of increasing stress, social media pressure, and global uncertainty. Our team of mental health professionals, educators, and technology experts came together with a shared vision: to create a digital haven where young people and those who support them can find the resources they need to navigate a complex and sometimes confusing mental health landscape.

Privacy policy.
Haven is designed to be a safe space to learn. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to understand how the site is used and make it better.
What we collect
Haven uses Google Analytics to measure aggregate site usage — things like which pages are visited, how long people stay, and which resources are most helpful. This information is anonymous and aggregated. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.
What we don't collect
- We do not require accounts, logins, or registration to use Haven.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact information unless you choose to email us directly.
- We do not collect health information or store anything you type into interactive activities. Reflections and journal entries in our mindfulness activities stay on your device and are not transmitted to us.
- We do not sell, rent, or share visitor data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish repeat visits in aggregate. You can block or clear these through your browser settings, or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Haven works fully with cookies disabled.
Embedded content
Videos on Haven are hosted on Vimeo and YouTube. When you play a video, those services may set their own cookies and collect usage data under their privacy policies. Links to external organizations (Child Mind Institute, Military OneSource, NAMI, and others) take you to sites with their own privacy practices.
Crisis resources
When you use a phone or text link on Haven (such as 988 or the Crisis Text Line), you connect directly with that service. Haven does not see or record those conversations.
Children's privacy
Haven provides content for young people ages 9 and up. Because we do not collect personal information from any visitor, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents and caregivers with questions can reach us at [email protected].
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change, and note the date of the most recent revision below.
