Interactive Activity · #6

The mind lives
in the body

We often think of the mind as something that happens in our heads. But the mind exists throughout the whole body. Stress, calm, tension, energy — these aren't just feelings. They live somewhere.

In this activity, you'll map what you notice in your body right now, receive a targeted breathing prompt, and reflect on what the body is telling you.

Who are you joining us as today?

Body Scan

Where do you feel it?

If you like, select a sensation, then tap the region of the body where you feel it. You can mark as many as feel present.

1 — Choose a sensation
2 — Place it if you'd like
You might select a sensation above, then tap where you feel it on the body.
What you've noticed
Nothing marked yet.

Targeted Breathing

You can invite your breath to reach the body parts you notice

Now you've noticed one or more body parts where a specific sensation is located. If you like, you can imagine your in-breath flowing all the way into a specific body part, and imagine your out-breath beginning to flow out of that body part. What do you notice?

Why do we practice this?
Sometimes when we notice and breathe with a sensation in our body, we learn more about it — and it may change with our attention. This isn't about fixing or forcing. It's about bringing a gentle curiosity to what's already there.

Reflection

What is your body telling you?

Here's what you noticed. If you'd like, you might sit with it for a moment — and consider what comes.

Journal prompt
✏️ Take this question with you — write your thoughts in a journal, notebook, or notes app.

Complete

You listened to
your body.

That act of noticing — turning inward rather than away — might be one of the simplest forms of mindfulness practice.
